Self taught guitar player, composer and founder of MoonArra World Fusion Ensemble, Jagadeesh is an experienced guitarist performing with pop, rock, jazz and fusion ensembles for three decades. From a young age, Jagadeesh was exposed to Indian Classical sounds at home. Playing both nylon classical guitar and electric steel string guitar, Jagadeesh, has performed in International Jazz Festivals and concert tours in Morocco, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand with international. Jagadeesh has collaborated and performed with International musicians and musicians in India such as : Pianist Norbert Kael from Hungary, Saxophone players Phil Scarff USA and Peter Natterer from Austria, Flautist Leszek Wisniowski from Poland, Malaysia based drummer Lewis Pragasam and Asiabeat, Indonesian drummer Gilang Ramadhan, reputed santoor maestro Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya and his ensemble,Carnatic vocalist Ramamani, ghatam vidwan virtuoso Smt. Sukanya Ramagopal, Australia based guitarist Tommy Smith, Khanjira Vidwan Amrit, flautists Pt. Milind Date and Vidwan Ravichandra Kollur,percussionist Muthu Kumar, jazz guitarist Gerard Machado, Goa based percussionist Willia D’Souza, Carlos Gonsalves amongst others. Jagadeesh also performed withsax payer Ian Ballamy and drummer Thomas Stronen as part of Prakash Sontakke’s Global Music Festival. His interest in flamenco music led him to Spain where he spent a month understanding and soaking in the music. Jagadeesh also developed an interest in playing the Oud after a trip to Cairo, Egypt. As Head of Events at Radio Indigo (till 2008) Jagadeesh was instrumental in conceptualising a number of international quality concert events, reviving and putting together what is arguably Bangalore’s finest and one of India’s best Jazz Festivals – The Indigo & Blues Festival in 2007 – and in 2009 a 3 Day Jazz Festival at the UB City for the Bengaluru Habba. Jagadeesh continues to network with musicians both locally and internationally as part of his events interest. Jagadeesh is Director at The Bangalore School of Music.
Self taught and has been playing the guitar and keyboard since 1990. He plays the bass guitar with The Whitefield Jazz Quartet, MoonArra, 4 Times Soulful, and is also a Product Specialist for Bass Guitars at Yamaha Music India Pvt. Ltd. He also teaches the piano, acoutic guitar and the bass guitar at Lance Music which he founded in 2011.
Rohit is an active performer who has played with a multitude of bands covering various genres of music such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Latin, R&B and Neo-Soul. Versatility being one of his strengths, he has also worked as a session drummer with many songwriters such as Dr.Prakash Sontakke(hindustani slide guitar), Jagadeesh M.R(Jazz-fusion guitarist) to name a few. Rohit has also recorded drums for other musicians in many studios which is one of his favorite roles to play as a drummer.
Apart from performing and recording, Rohit has been a dedicated teacher for over 5 years. Teaching has been his passion. He started off as a drum teacher at Deccan International School. Parallel to that, he worked as a Drum Mentor at Octavium for 4 years and taught close to a hundred students so far. He is currently working as a Private instructor.
